TAYLOR EXCELS AT THE STOPPAGES

The triple T, otherwise known as Tom Taylor of Tambellup, continues to be a shining light in the Claremont colts side and the tigerish 17-year-old midfielder was one of the chief architects in Claremont’s 40-point victory over Swan Districts at Bassendean Oval on Saturday.

Rarely this season has a Claremont player been so dominant at the stoppages as was Taylor against Swans, writes Ken Casellas.

TIGERS IN 11TH DRAW IN 85 YEARS

League football in WA is alive and well and a bumper crowd at Bassendean Oval on Saturday was treated to a magnificent contest between the top sides Claremont and Swan Districts, writes Ken Casellas.

Each side looked to have victory in its grasp during a drama-packed, pulsating final quarter before the epic match reached a nail-biting climax, with Claremont forward Jarrod Ninyette marking a pass from Blake Anderson about 50m out seconds before the final siren sounded.

DEMONS GIVE TIGERS A FRIGHT

Claremont’s league side has set the standard this season and it is only logical to assume that all other eight clubs have been planning astutely to find ways to stop the Tigers juggernaut.

And the Perth side, languishing in eighth position on the premiership table with only two wins from 14 matches, descended on to Claremont Oval on Saturday with specific plans and strategies to combat the Tigers and hopefully to halt their winning streak, writes Ken Casellas.
