CWFC Head to Albany
Only week two into their pre season the Womens team took to Albany to establish their values and culture while providing education and training for the players and coaches of the Great Southern League. Friday night the players dived straight into their values session run by the Leadership group.
Saturday morning saw the players run the first of three team building sessions while the coaches provided a workshop for local coaches and a training session for members of the Storm Academy. We all got back together for a typical training session where local players from the GSWFL were invited to experience the training standard of a WAFLW club. After training and then again later in the evening the leaders held the other two team building sessions focusing on connection through common purpose, belonging and vulnerability.
The group was on the road early on Sunday morning to make it back to The Tiger Bar in time to watch the AFLW Grand Final. Immediately after this the players decided we'd better watch the replay of our own premiership in the League.
The coaching staff were incredibly impressed by the maturity and buy in from all players involved. The standard has been set as we look toward building and growing to be ready for our premiership defence.
A special thankyou to Jaxon Liddlelow and Darrel Pannizza for their help on the ground in Albany.
