A blistering third term paved the way for Claremont’s Reserves’ thrilling one-point win against Swan Districts at Steel Blue Oval last Saturday, which sees the Tigers sitting in fifth position on the ladder.

After a forgettable and hard-to-watch first half yielded the team just two goals and had them trailing by 25 points at half-time, the Tigers played their best 28 minutes of football for the season, with a seven-goal-to-one third term - built on the back of quick and direct ball movement - resulting in a 11.8 (74) to 11.7 (73) victory.

League Report: Tigers lean run continues

After sitting atop of the ladder, albeit after just four rounds, Claremont has been given a reality check in its past three games, culminating in a 17-point loss to Swan Districts at Steel Blue Oval last Saturday.

Following losses to Subiaco and South Fremantle, the Tigers were again second best when the game was up for grabs, with the side suffering a 13.4 (82) to 15.9 (99) loss in splendid conditions.

A woeful performance after quarter-time saw Claremont suffer consecutive losses as Subiaco romped past the Tigers for a 55-point win in ANZAC Round at East Fremantle Oval in perfect conditions last Saturday.

Despite leading by 19 points at the opening change on the back of some of the best football the team has played this season, the Tigers could only manage two goals after quarter-time after being held goalless in the second and fourth terms as Subiaco piled on 14 to win 15.10 (100) to 6.9 (45).

A never-give-in attitude paved the way for Claremont’s Reserves’ six-point win over Subiaco in ANZAC Round at East Fremantle Oval in perfect conditions last Saturday.

After a terrific first quarter, the Tigers, who blooded three debutants, were gradually pegged back by Subiaco before kicking the final two goals of the game to prevail 11.5 (71) to 9.11 (65) and record their second win of the season.

Round 6 - Claremont v Lions

Claremont will look to return to winning ways when they host Subiaco at East Fremantle Oval on Saturday afternoon.

In what will be a home game for the Tigers, the team will look to rebound from its loss to South Fremantle, their first of the season, while Subiaco are on a four-game winning streak.

Jye Bolton will look to prove his fitness after suffering an MCL sprain to his left knee in the loss to the Bulldogs, however, Bailey Rogers is set to miss six to eight weeks after hyperextending and suffering bone bruising and a fracture to his left knee.

A slow start set the tone for Claremont’s Reserves’ disappointing 43-point loss to South Fremantle at Fremantle Community Bank Oval on Good Friday.

After smashing East Perth five days earlier, the Tigers trailed by 17 points at quarter-time, were held scoreless in the second quarter and ended up suffering a 5.8 (38) to 11.15 (81) defeat in perfect conditions.

An injury-ravaged Claremont suffered their first loss of the season after a 65-point defeat to South Fremantle at Fremantle Community Bank Oval on Good Friday.

Jye Bolton (knee), Zac Langdon (concussion), Bailey Rogers (knee) and Tom Shanahan (concussion) were all casualties, as the Tigers finished the match with no fit players on the interchange bench in the 6.10 (46) to 17.9 (111) defeat.
