New Additions in 2015
Claremont Football Club have bolstered their squad for the 2015 season with an exciting array of recruits, graduating colts and players returning to the club. Some are very familiar faces with a number of premiership stars returning to the fold as well some new blood looking to make their mark in the famous navy and gold jumper.
Beau Maister
The former WCE and St Kilda forward returns to his club of origin in 2015. His last game in tigers colour’s earned him both a Simpson medal and a premiership medallion in the 2011 premiership win over Subiaco.
Ian Richardson
Returning from a year travelling, a rejuvenated Richardson looks as fresh as ever and determined to continue his outstanding career with CFC. A former B&F winner, dual premiership player and 6 time state representative, Richardson will add further bite to a dangerous Tigers forward half in 2015.
Tom Swift
The former Eagle is another to return from travelling and study commitments to don the gold sash again in 2015. An elite inside midfielder, Swift is a dual premiership player with Claremont and will slot seamlessly back into the tigers midfield.
Oliver Tate
A VFL premiership player with North Ballarat, Tate brings with him 55 games of league football to further shore up the tiger’s defensive half. Also comfortable in the midfield, Tate’s physicality and leadership will add further experience to the young list.
Haydn Busher
The versatile swingman from Perth FC is comfortable at either end of the ground and will bring further quality to the Tigers list. An exceptional youth age footballer, injuries limited Busher to 39 League games with his former club but with a solid preseason under his belt 2015 will see a new dawn in blue and gold.
Toby Plant
From Port Melbourne in the VFL and as a former student of the ‘football factory’ that is Xavier College, Plant brings further quality and intensity to the squad and if his pre-season is anything to go by, we can expect big things from him in 2015.
Others to excel over the pre-Christmas period include emerging power forward Jackson Starcevich, the evergreen Ryan Neates, and running machine Hugo Breakey. To further whet the supporters appetite for the new season, a large number of our graduating colts have put their case forward for a round one league berth including Ryan Lim, Sam Bevan and Matthew Palfrey who all developing players to catch the eye.
