Round 22 Preview Claremont vs. West Perth
Claremont will be seeking five wins in a row when they take on West Perth this Saturday at the Show Grounds, in what will be the team’s final home game for the season.
The Tigers made it four consecutive wins with an eight-point victory over Subiaco in round 21, while the Falcons recorded a nine-point win over Peel Thunder.
The Tigers defeated the Falcons by 12 points back in round two at Arena Joondalup, before West Perth recorded a nine-point win at the Show Grounds in round 11.
With Jake Murphy, Luke Blackwell, Ryan Neates, Ben Daniher, Corey Yeo and Tom Ledger facing the likes of Aaron Black, Shane Nelson, Matthew Guadagnin, Ray Bartholomew, Steven Browne and Jay van Berlo, the battle in the midfield will go a long way to determining the result.
The battle of the ruckman could also prove crucial, with Mark Seaby and Mitch McGovern facing Seva Martin and Chris Keunan.
The Tigers will look to Jack Bradshaw to continue his fine form in front of goal, with the forward kicking 34 goals for the season, while Brenden Abbott should be fit to play after being a late withdrawal against Subiaco.
The Falcons have struggled for goals all season, although they may have found a pairing for the future, with Luke Meadows and Max Alexander combining for five goals in the win over Peel.
Andrew Foster will be out to prove his fitness for the Tigers, after missing the win over Subiaco with a back injury.
A win for Claremont would secure fifth place on the ladder, while a win for West Perth would see them jump above the Tigers on percentage.
Claremont have turned the Show Grounds into a home-ground fortress in 2014, winning six of eight matches, and the club would love to see all Tiger fans attend the game, as the team looks to continue their fine run of form and thank the spectators for their continued support this season.
Bounce down is at 2.05pm.
