Moss plans for the future.
By Ken Casellas
Graham Moss has several pressing priorities as he plans for the future of the Claremont Football Club.
The former champion player, who was recently appointed by the Board in a permanent capacity as Chief Executive Officer of the club after serving in that role in an acting capacity for seven months, said that his main focus was to get the club back on an even financial keel after incurring considerable costs over the past two and a half years at the Claremont Showgrounds.
“We also will be working hard at re-engaging with members after this period of time away from our home at Claremont Oval,” he said.
Moss will continue to be involved in the construction of the club’s new facility in Davies Road.
“It is important to ensure a smooth transition to our traditional home,” he said.
The two-level underground car park is due to be completed by the end of July and then the building of the club’s new facility will begin.
“I’m keen to oversee the operation of our new facility in the years to come,” Moss said.
“At the moment my focus is on looking at opportunities to increase revenue particularly as we transition into the new facility. We need to generate sufficient revenue to adequately fund our football Department to enable them to develop the talent in our metropolitan and regional areas to ensure the on field success of the Club and to develop a talent pathway for prospective AFL players.”
