Round 13 Preview - Claremont v West Perth
Round 13 Preview Claremont vs. West Perth
by Dan Scamozzi
Claremont host West Perth at the Showgrounds on Saturday in what shapes as a season-defining game for the navy and gold.
The Tigers will be looking to record consecutive wins, while the Falcons have won their last six games.
With the seventh-placed Tigers four wins behind the fifth-placed Falcons on the ladder, anything but a win would leave Claremont with a mountain to climb in order to make the finals.
However, a victory for the Tigers would leave them three wins adrift of the Falcons with a superior percentage and game in hand.
Claremont will be well-rested having not played since its 80-point demolition of Swan Districts back in round 11, with the exception of Jye Bolton, Ryan Neates and Darcy Cameron who all starred for WA in its big win over Tasmania last weekend.
Haydn Busher, Jared Hardisty, Rowen Powell, Gerrick Weedon and Ben Higgs all starred for Claremont’s Reserves against Swans and will push their cases for selection, while the midfield battle shapes as a beauty.
Claremont will also be hoping to welcome back captain Jake Murphy, after the inspirational skipper was a late withdrawal in the win over Swans with a quad injury.
With plenty on the line, the club encourages all members and fans to attend the game and cheer on the mighty Tigers!
Bounce down is 2.15pm, following Reserves at 11.30am and Colts at 9am.
