Ledger claims Jack Clarke Medal

Claremont Colts midfielder Tom Ledger was honoured last night as the overall winner of the Colts fairest and best Jack Clarke Medal, which was presented during an AAMI WAFL Colts dinner presentation at Subiaco Oval.

The agile, high endurance midfielder, who positions himself well and finds a lot of the football, polled 36 votes to win the award ahead of Peel Thunder’s Joel Beasley on 34 votes, and East Perth’s  Ryan Maldenis and Swan’s Adam Faulkner on 33 votes each.

Walton reaches 100 but wants Premiership

RORY Walton has been a tough and consistent ball-winner over his first 99 games with Claremont dating back to his debut in 2004 and now he is proud to reach the century this Saturday but is more focused on that elusive premiership.

Walton has been right up in fairest and best voting in strong seasons from Claremont between 2004-07 where it played in three losing grand finals and a heartbreaking preliminary final loss to South Fremantle.

2ND SEMI FINAL AT CLAREMONT OVAL (UPDATED)

The 2nd Semi Finals of the 2010 WAFL Season will be now held at Claremont Oval on Sunday 5th September.

League - Claremont v Swan Districts (2:15pm)
Reserves - Claremont v East Fremantle (11:45am)

There will also be a luncheon on the day.

The colts will play at a different time to the league and reserves side. The information as follows:

Colts - Claremont v East Fremantle (Saturday 4th Sept at 9:15am - East Fremantle Oval)

TIGERS END DROUGHT

Claremont’s league side ended a three-year drought against Swan Districts and clinched a home second semi-final appearance with a splendid 73-point victory at Claremont Oval on Saturday.

It was a wonderful morale-boosting win before the Tigers clash with the Swans in the second semi-final at Claremont Oval on September 4, writes Ken Casellas.

This was Claremont’s first success over Swans since the Tigers beat them by five points in a round-17 fixture on July 21, 2007. Swans then won the next five matches against Claremont before the sides drew in round 18 on July 24 this year.
