Last week was a busy one for the Claremont Football Club being host to over 240 kids. The school holidays brought a number of parents looking for fun activities for their kids to participate in, and many thought what could be better than getting some tips on how to improve your footy from the leading WAFL team. Along with an added bonus, on the monday West Coast Eagles players Brett Jones, Lewis Broome and Beau Waters came down to answer some of the children’s questions and sign their Eagles gear.
Claremont’s new Development Assistant, Tamer Mol, said: “It was a good couple of days and the kids had a lot of fun. This year we had the best players we’ve ever had and that was reflected in the way the stations were run. The kids and the Claremont players interacted well and everyone played their part in making it an enjoyable and memorable experience.” Some of the Claremont players included Ian Richardson, Ryan Brabazon, Kane Mitchell, Blake Anderson, Jake Murphy, Simon Starling and Dylan Ross.
The weather held out wonderfully allowing for excellent playing conditions for the kids. Each child received a pack full of Claremont Tigers gear including footballs, hats, water bottles, posters and stickers, which the Claremont players were more than happy to sign for the kids. Overall the clinics were a great success and we look forward to seeing new and familiar faces back next year.
