Jeremy McGovern bounced back to action in magnificent style after a month on the sidelines with a superb exhibition in the ruck in the second semi-final of the colts competition at East Fremantle Oval on Saturday.

His dominance over Tyler Chalwell at the bounce-downs and boundary throw-ins in the opening quarter gave Claremont a flying start against East Fremantle, writes Ken Casellas.

Ferocious tackling, determined chasing, unselfish team play and a good deal of brilliance marked Claremont’s superb 50-point victory over Swan Districts in the league second semi-final at Claremont Oval on Saturday, writes Ken Casellas.

The euphoria of the win, which earns the Tigers a shot at the premiership in the grand final at Subiaco Oval next Sunday week, was severely tempered by the serious facial injuries sustained by inspirational captain Clancy Rudeforth.

Claremont Colts midfielder Tom Ledger was honoured last night as the overall winner of the Colts fairest and best Jack Clarke Medal, which was presented during an AAMI WAFL Colts dinner presentation at Subiaco Oval.

The agile, high endurance midfielder, who positions himself well and finds a lot of the football, polled 36 votes to win the award ahead of Peel Thunder’s Joel Beasley on 34 votes, and East Perth’s  Ryan Maldenis and Swan’s Adam Faulkner on 33 votes each.

As the AFL and community football seasons are winding down, it's now time to start getting teams in for 'Rec Footy'. It will run from October to December.
